I have sold off all my broadheads and I am wanting to use one of these, I will be buying 125gr 4 blades. For those that have used them which do you prefer and why? Mostly for deer.

KyleAllen

If phantoms are good enough for eichler, then they are good enough for me. Stingers may penetrate a little better, because of the smaller bleeders, but the phantoms will leave better blood. Those phantoms sure sharpen up nicely and hold a good edge.

I've never been one for springy bleeders. If you want a 4 blade go with the Phantom.

Jason Kendall

Thanks guys, that's kind of the way I am leaning, a friend of mine shot a buck last year with them out of his 44# bow and he said he has never seen so much blood! I have always been a fan of Magnus though thats why its a tough call for me. Do you know if the bleeder on the Phantom still rattles or did they fix that problem?

Chuck Mullaley

I have one bleeder - out of a dozen - that rattles.  I just add a touch of super glue and that takes care of it.

Phantoms have become my favorite broadhead.

Well, even though I've never shot the Stingers, I'd still lead toward the Phantom SS. Super heavy and tough as hell...

I don't know about the bleeders on the phantoms, but the main blade was loose and rattling on the last batch I had.  Of course, that was 2 or 3 years ago and I haven't shot any since.  I may just give them another try though.  I really liked the cutting area of the phantom with the bleeders in place.  I always thought they'd make and excellent head for turkeys.

I have killed deer with both and both worked great. My nod goes to the muzzy however for the bigger cut and it is easier to work with the bleeders. You do not have to have tools to get the bleeders out of the muzzy and it can be shot as a two blade if you wish.

This is how well a 100 grn 4 blade magnus stinger works after it went through a bull caribou.  The bow is a 53# Palmer recurve. The bull went 10 yards.  It took me awhile to find the arrow...

I have used both. I like the bleeders on the stingers (smaller). But I like that I can get the Phantoms in 220 grain. My stingers are 150. SO depending on the setup I use, either Stingers, Phantoms, or Zwickeys.

220 grain phantom 4 blades awesome quiet and rock solid no noise. Jason that kanati bow of yours is some nice piece of equiptment.

Jason Kendall

Hey, Thanks Thomas! Well, I went and ordered the Phantoms. I wont need them for awhile but I just cant stand being without broadheads! Thanks for the help.

Phantoms have become my favorite screw in bh over 5 yrs ago.  I still have 6, in the package, made by the original mfgr before Muzzy bought them out.  Muzzy did not change them one bit, which I'm thankful for.  The tip is extraordinary, they're razor sharp, and built super solid.  -Zano

I really like the blade thickness on the stinger and the diamond point is the bomb. The 1s I have got have shaved hair easier than some other reputable heads that I have bought.

I love STOS but am thinking of trying the phantoms this year, stingers are awesome as well, but I think the phantoms more resemble the STOS(4 bladed).

Either or they will kill if the shooter puts them in the right spot.
