I am in need of some arrows and planned on making my own. I am just getting into trad archery and this will be my first time making arrows.

I was thinking of using either cedar or douglas fir shafting, 125 grain field points, 5" fletching, and classic nocks.

Where do you guys get you shafting and supplies?(I have looked into 3rivers and kustom king) Also any suggestions on different materials other than what I have listed?

Thanks for the help

Jim Curlee makes excellent tapered cedar shafts -- good grain and spined and weighed closely.  Can contact him via email at curleejim@pitel.net.  Can also get good shafts from Lamont Granger at the Footed Shaft, and, of course, there are a half-dozen or so sponsors of this site that also provide good shafting.

Buy my cedars from the local archery supply shop, and I make all the ash shafts I use myself.   :archer:
make em pretty and shoot em straight.

6 POINT

My top two picks are Ted Fry at Raptor or Kustom King. Like them both and both will give you great service.

String Cutter

Allegheny Mountain Arrow Woods.... First Class all the way.    http://www.arrowwoods.com/  and at a very good price.

I will second what string cutter said, also Whispering Wind Arrows for Hexpine shafts.  Joseph

I ordered a dozen fir and a dozen sitka from  Hildebrands .  They were shipped very fast and from what I can tell are top notch quality.  I have just started working on the sitka so neither have been shot yet.

I'll 2nd Whispering Wind. I tell Bob what draw length, draw weight, type of bow and what I want my finished arrows to weigh and he has been right on the money every time.
