missing low.

Any tips for  missing low? My groups are tight left and right but what spreads my groups out is missing low. My groups are good at 20yds but at 30yds my misses are all low. Is there something wrong with my form or do I just need to keep shooting?

I mean I have a group going at 30 and then I'll have a flyer that misses low. I'm new been shooting traditional about 2 weeks like I said at 20 I'm money but 30 when I miss its always low.

Stalk up to 20 or stand on a couple of phone books at 30.

LOL------Your kidding, right? If not, this is what I would do to fix it.....close your right eye, turn your hat around backwards, put all your change in your right pocket, pick up your left foot, draw the bow to your chin, stick out your tongue, hold your breath for 5 seconds, now release----this should cure you.

JBiorn 20 yards is plenty good bud .That's why we call it "STICK BOW CLOSE"Practice at 30 yards if you want your entitled to a stray arrow at that distance. Did you ever think that fatigue is setting in constantly shooting six arrows.This is not  a compound brother plus you've only been shooting two weeks. Most of all never take a shot at a game animal if you have any doubts on the shot. You have to be able to say to yourself I know I can make this shot at this distance.

It really could be many things but If everything is shooting perfect like you say with a few low flyers I could hazzard a guess that you might be droping your bow arm after the shot. Try a keeping the bow raised for a few seconds after each shot.

You arn't peeking once it a while. If you lift your head to see where the arrow is going the bow hand usually drops= low shot. Alan

Also it does not hurt to number your arrows. If you got a couple heavy ones in the bunch it may show up at 30 yards.

Lower your nock point just a hair and see what that does.  If it causes you to shoot high at 20 yards, then I would put it back where it was.  Eventually you'r brain will be able to calculate the long shot.

I think it's your bow arm.  

I find that if don't pay attention it's very easy to drop my bow arm, just a little, and the arrow hits low.

Jboirn thanks for the help, I started shooting traditioinal because it seemed like you guys were more willing to help. But I guess every group has some guys that forgot how it was when they started thanks.

Dropping your bow arm or just a bit of creep on release will show up as low hits.The farther the distance the more the little things count.Lose back tension and you are low.

and my groups at 30 arnt bad its just 2 out of like every 6 arrows goes low.

dogsBHTG, I could not resist the kidding. If you are shooting "in the money" at 20 yards you are a damn good shot. 30 yards ability is beyond many of us, myself included. At two weeks I was still struggling with being overbowed at 55# and unable to shot a 12" group at 10 yards with any consistancy. Now (after about 10 years) I am fairly comfortable with a 20 yard shot but may pass if I'm not feeling in the grove. Keep up the good work and good hunting!
