Well I went and did it. I made myself a knife today. Made two but Shell snagged one so I only get one. I made one with a osage handle and a antler overlay carbon blade skinner... THIS ONES MINE! And then I made a tiny skinner witha redoak spalted handle and carbon blade which is the one Shell took for herself. I got the idea for the antler overlay from Highpockets. Saw one of his awesome knifes with it and thought I had to try it. And I got some wood from someone on here and thats where the redoak came from. I am sorry don't remember who sent it. Would like to know cuz I love this stuff! Here's some pics.

Oooohh I love em. I really like the spalted maple. I have made a couple of fly rods with spalted maple in the reel seat. That stuff sure has some nice grain patterns to it.

Sticshooter, all of your knives that you make are very nice.  They all look like they are just waiting to be used.
These last two are, as usual, great looking!
And you provide a much needed service, you provide a nice knife to many people for a great price.

Dan thanks for the nice words. I am trying to get info on how to make a forge(CHEAP) to heat treat some saw blades. I seen somewhere how ya heat it up and then reheat in the oven at 400degrees for a hour. I know it sounds strange but if it works what the heck. I just don't have Time to hammer blades like doug and doc and the rest of the real knife makers on here do. Besides I swing a 8lb hammer all day so not really looking to use one when I get home LOL<><

What are you using to cut out the blades from old knives and saw blades?  Zizz wheel?

Mighty fine Frank! By the way what are you using for the finish? Looks mighty nice.

Frank I am in awe again. Beautiful knives Bro. By the way that bowie of mine was made from a sawmill blade.
