Anyone have an opinion on these bow stringers, I was thinking on getting one. I've always just used the ole, leg through the bow thing.
Does that efect a longbow like it does a recurve ?
Thanks
Jerald

Selway Limbsaver!

Bows are too expensive to risk messing up a limb thataway.

You should always use a stringer. There is too much at risk doing it the old fasioned way. You could break a limb or put a severe twist in it.

I like the selway, the one with a cup on one end and the chunk of rubber that goes on the limb for the other end.
The two cup types have bloodied my nose for the last time.

I have a couple of old stringers, cups on both ends, they just scared me using them, I guess it was because I did'nt have full controll of everything, I don't know, it just seemed risky.
I was looking at the Selway over at 3 Rivers site and was thinking on getting that one.
Figured since I had a new bow, might as well start out right.

The very best stringer comes from Thunderhorn bows. Look up their website. It is a very clever design, and allows for both longbows and recurves. It is very well made and handsome looking too.

The Trunderhorn stringer goes for $11.00 if I remember correctly.

The Thunderhorn looks like it works exactly like a Selway, just a tad different cosmetically.

If anyone is interested, I stock the Selway bow stringers, both longbow and recurve.  $10 shipped.

Heck its risky when ya dont use a stringer...always find someone to teach you how to string ur bow...its like riding a bike...like someone said bows are just too expensive not to use a stringer...has a matter of fact Blackwidow sells a video on how to string there bows with one!   :)
