Wanting to place an order for more glass and wondering how Bearpaw is doing now?  price point for us north of the border in Canada . Thinking about trying Bearpaw again ??   Approx cost per bow clear glass by the time it lands at my door ...
Gordons $70.00 Can.
Bearpaw $40.00 Can.

I haven't played with it in years. Last time I did, I bought a large roll of it and was building bows and shipping them 10 at a time to China. The draw weights didn't have to hit a particular draw weight. I had a 40#-55# range  to work with.

I'd use it again for low budget production line bows, but not custom stuff.

Considering what you are building Bryan.... I wouldn't use low budget glass myself.

.02 cents worth.     Kirk

Last bow I used it on came in almost 10# light, I'm not planning on using it anymore, unless it's all that's available.

Yeah spine inconsistisy from roll to roll was big for me being I only bought inches needed instead of rolls.

Rosewood said that BP has improved the structure of their glass and their clarity has been good, They also said Gordon's in their opinion is perfect. I guess that should answer my question lol but its $$ when your prototyping limb ideas   :o good fun comes with a price.  :biglaugh:

You need to get back at that, Kirk.  America needs your help with trade balance.  🤣

I got a feeling this new administration we have coming in is going to throw a wrench in shipping stuff over seas. Shipping to China isn't going to be a good option me thinks.... It's a shame really... I ship quite a few bow's overseas.

I entertained building production bows a couple times over the years, but it's boring as hell just running machines and pumping out product. You are purchasing and handling a lot more materials, and setting on inventory that may or may not move. Import/export licensing comes into play as well as tariffs running the cost to consumers up and your cost to produce them needs to be cut to the bone.....

I was approached by Cascade years ago to build their bows, and they used Bear paw glass in all their stuff. But... once I penciled out how many bows I needed to produce per year, it just wasn't something I wanted to pursue.  I did like some of those designs they had. The Cascade golden hawk was a pretty cool bow.

No thanks.... Someone else can help balance the trade deficit.   Kirk
