A question for you trail camera experts!

My hunting buddy and I were discussing trail cameras and we both remember a "main" trail camera that you "linked" to other cameras (same brand of course) and the other cameras sent the photo to the "main" camera. Not sure if this set up is still made since the advent of the cell cameras. Did a search that came up with nothing. Not really looking to buy any of them, just trying to remember the brand...or if we were both imagining that these existed! Thanks! Mike

I think maybe Cuddie Back has that. I haven't really kept up on it though.

Maybe cuddeback might have had that with the cuddelink system but not sure. I never had any of them but think I remember seeing a commercial for them but it's been a few years ago

Buckeye cam is probably what you are thinking about. They had a setup where you had your own "network" where the cameras would send pics to a repeater in the system and the repeater would send to your home base cam/computer. This was pre cell cam days, maybe they still do it this way. Never had any nor do I know anyone that used this system,  I just remember it.

Mike... sounds like you already have your answer about the brand. But I'll add that I installed some Cuddebacks earlier this year and have had good luck with them. That Cuddelink system can save you a lot of money over other brands that have to have a cellular plan for each camera. They will also work on either the Verizon or AT&T network. I will say, the pictures don't arrive in real-time if that's important to you. It takes some time for them to move from the cameras to the base unit and then to be sent over the cellular connection. But it sure beats walking from camera to camera.

Jimmy, thank you for the feedback. If I were to go to the Cuddebacks, I would just use the "base camera" and not have the pics sent to my cell phone or computer. I am at the property a few times a week working on invasive removal projects, so checking a base camera would be no problem. But there are some areas I avoid as much as possible until late October and early November. It would be kind of neat to know what's going on in those areas without having to tromp thru them. Thanks again!

Yeah... I haven't thought about it (because the property I used them on is almost 2 hours away), but that'd be even better! No cell plan needed. I think they'd work great for what you're describing. It's a little more effort to get them setup, buti still nothing compared to having to walk the property to check them—not to mention the possibility of messing up those areas by going into them and bumping deer.
