Today is John McDonald's 93rd Birthday.  Maker of Big River bows(retired).  I have a recurve and D/R Longbow, wish I had a couple more.

Only 93?, would've sworn he was older :biglaugh:  I've still got 3 of John's bows.  An ASL and 2 R/D's.

I miss the old geezer. Hope he is celebrating with his family. I may have a bow or 10 of his. He even let me take his name for my knife company, Bigriver Blades. I believe he was  touched a bit when I asked him.

Happy birthday John. I really enjoyed talking with him over the years at the shoots and WTA banquet. I have five of his bows; two ASL(one is reverse handle) and three 21st century style. I am glad I never parted with any of them.

John was a fine man to talk to, he was always trying to talk me out of my heavy bows, but made them anyway!  Awesome craftsman.
