aluminum shafting help

i need some help with selecting aluminum shafting for my recurves...i have no idea of where to start and even charts can be confusing....i want to get set up for elk hunting NEXT YEAR...this year i am just deer hunting....my bows are....BEAR grizzly 58" 55# @28..........BOSS BOW 60'' 55#@28........i you are going to help KEEP IN MIND....its for elk hunting...thanks john......draw is 28....point weight i am hoping to be 145-160 grains...WOW,now after looking at the options of what was suggested below maybe i should look at carbons..

Don't know your draw length, But I would suggest 2018, 2117 or 2020 if you can find them.

Black Velvet likely has you covered....Like all setups it depends on a LOT of factors.  Without going into those

I would do my BEST to get the 2018's setup for those rigs. IMHO its about the best shaft going for 50-60# Bows.

If you are at the above weights/draw you should have little issues with the 2018's ...Small dia. -thick wall=win/win;)
Point weight ?  I usually run between 145gr-175 gr & 29"=30" shafts for my 50#-55# Longbows.  I buy the inserts 3Rivers and others sell with the threaded end. I use basic metal screw threads to "fine tune"  broadhead weight with the broadheads of my choice so as to match what is called for....

For my Bear TD I took Elk hunting I used 2114 shafts with 165 grain BH. 2020 was another option but I don't care for the trajectory after 20 yards. My host said be prepared for shots out to 25-30 yards because of lack of undergrowth to sneak in closer. Another option for some more weight would be 2117 but left a little longer than you normally cut shafts to. That was most popular size our club used from recurve and compound bows. Guys used them on deer, hogs, elk.
