Got a nice buck on camera and on my way home ran into this guy.[attachment=1,msg3007351]

Now that is a cool looking snake.

I catch and relocate our venomous snakes over here, so I get to see some pretty neat colours and patterns. However I've not seen one like that, those colours are very striking.

Good hunting to you all.
May the wind be your friend, and may your arrows fly true,
Most of all, may the appreciation and the gratitude of what we do keep us humble......

Thanks! It was a really kool encounter for sure. He could have cared less that I was there. I took some pictures and went on my way.

Killdeer

Snake is so shiny-bright and new! Incredibly beautiful pattern.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

i'm with Bryant  on this one.  i think he/she must have recently shed because the colors are so brilliant.  That's the "purtiest" timber rattler i've ever seen. Good on you for letting it go.  Nice buck too by the way! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

beautiful Timber Rattler, that is what we have the most of here in terms of the big ones. they are also called Velvet Tails here or even Coon Tails.
They can get very big, at least here in the mountains anyways. looks freshly shed too. They can be very irritable right before shedding
