Technology....the knack of arranging the world so that we don't have to experience it.

Bowwild

I understand the question.  Of course I will have no gods before Him.

But, the top 3 most impressive trad hunters that come to mind for me are people I've met and hunted with.

1. Fred Eichler
2. Joe Lacefield (biologist peer in KY).
3. Jim Hart (when he hunted trad) in Lafayette, IN.

If I considered those I haven't met:

- Fred Bear
- Rick Duggan (1st trad-only Super Slam)
- Bob Swinehart

Gun

There is only one true God.

People that have brought much to our sport IMHO.

Fred Bear - who pioneered the modern Bowhunter
G Fred Asbell - who brought it all back single handedly from the verge of technology
Roger Rothhaar/ Gene Wensel (tie) - for bringing light to the Whitetail world
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

My trad heroes (not gods) are:

Fred Bear
Ben Pearson
Howard Hill

Now we're digging where the taters are.

Not much for the word 'gods' either.  That just don't sit right with me.

Hero's sure....

Howard Hill, the Wensel Brothers, and Charlie Lamb.

Friend of mine, newer shooter, recently subscribed and was pleasantly surprised at how good the magazine is.
I've never seen it and the only imagine I get is the one from the NRA.  He said this is much better than most outdoor magazines though.
May have to see if I can find a single copy somewhere and take a look.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

I apologize if some took the word Gods as an insult to the one God, by no means was I trying to be disrespectful to anyone's beliefs. I'm from NYC and we can be a bit rough around the edges with our use of the Kings English. Admins please feel free to remove this thread if needed.

Fun thread, but... I can't do just three. There are after all at least two Wensel brothers that we know of and I can't have a list without Jim Doughtery on it as well. There are also many lesser known regional guys like Dan Quillian, Roscoe Reams and Robert Carter who have made many contributions. So I am gonna just sit back and enjoy the show.
Pick a spot...

PrimitivePete, I'll be in NYC next week. May be need to chat....

Be careful Terry, it's a whole new world going on here, and it's not pretty

Terry Green

Yeah, I know... not like  it was 4 years ago when I used to feel safer there than Atlanta....but it is what it is.

Most of my time will be in North west Bronx/ Inwood area.
