i have a Deathwish longbow, apparently the previous owner took a round file and cut a groove into the arrow shelf creating a slot for the arrow to ride in (not sure why). It is not very deep, maybe a 1/16" but the arrow makes full contact with the shelf. My thought was to fill in the slot with wood, leather, or epoxy and create a flat shelf, then add a piece of leather or toothpick to create a single point of contact.
My question is where do i locate this single point of contact on the arrow shelf. Some people say above the deepest part of the grip, but the bow has a slight locator grip and the point of contact would be way back on the shelf. Also the sight window is rounded (not flat), so there is a slight contact point about in the middle of the sight window, above the arrow shelf. Would that be the correct place to create the point of contact?

Any and all info on this would be appreciated...

Thanks, Alan
Any help or info with this would be appreciated

It should be dead center the riser otherwise if you slightly torque the bow left or right it will be magnified .
