This is a good process for getting to be a Traditional Archer .

After you get a decent bow and some arrows , get a decent target and backstop .
Now get a slingshot , ( don't have to be a very good one ) and a bag of marbles .
Now you are all set .
So here is the process ; take your bow and stand close to the target and shoot 5 arrows . Then take the slingshot and shoot a marble in the air at about a 45° angle and watch the marble as it fly's through the air and notice how it curves down . That will get your brain trained to understand trajectory .
Now pull the arrows and shoot 5 more arrows from about a foot further back and shoot another marble like you did before .
Keep repeating this process until all the marbles in the bag are gone .
Now when you have lost all your marbles you will be a Traditional Archer .

Since I'm the only bowhunter in my hunting camp, all my hunting buddies think I lost my marbles a long time ago.

I tried that , only problem was I lost my arrows before I lost my marbles.

To be a traditional archer these days, you need to get a machined aluminum ILF riser and carbon fiber core limbs. Some kind of elevated rest so you can shoot 2 inch plastic vanes on your carbon arrows. You need to put at least 400 grains on the front of those carbon arrows too. A skinny Spectra string about 6 strands is a must on that traditional bow these days or you will get laughed out of the archery shop. Dont forget the stick-on rubber shock bumpers on your limbs too, and a clicker. Gotta have a clicker. Another thing you must do is get the most modern nylon tab to shoot with so you can learn how to string walk and gap shoot together by watching The Push video, whatever that is. I hope this helps the new archer determine what type of equipment to buy. I learned all of this on You-Tube and Facebook because there are a lot of archery experts on there and thought t would be good to tell you all this because now I know it all. LOL
