I didn't look at the tag to see what it had in it. Maybe the poly reflects some light?

Poly has to have a carrier to take the dye also.... you can use permanent marker but it will most likely shed off.... I've been in the carpet buiz for over 35  years, this stuff is old hat to me.

could be, ive never had a problem with it. but its not a slick poly like all the new camo is.

Poly is poly.... plastic.  Like using a permanant market on PLASTIC water bottles, it will wear off. Any 'new poly' is only 'new plastic'.... same BS - different marketing scam.  Been that way for 50 years. Just man trying to screw man over a fiber they can't compete with what God made, and they never will.  Its laughable at best!

@kennym - I have that same exact pattern on my cold weather outfit.  I got it from Bass Pro shops years ago but it did not have the wind shear in it.  I felt like the wind sheer made it too noisy for me to draw my bow in.  Mine is just straight up wool it was not the wooltimate.  I am guessing yours is actually a little darker than what the picture shows maybe?  Mine looks to be the same blend but slightly darker that is why I think the highlights are just showing up from the photo in your picture.  I have the bibs and the long jacket top all wool same camo pattern. I got that about 10 years ago and that has been my goto outer wear for cold weather hunting ever since.  About 8 years ago I shot a nice 10 point that walked and looked right at me and kept going.  I have always I thought I blended in real well with the tree trunks and all that.  I have done well hunting from the ground in that outfit too with deer walking by at 20 yards and me just sitting against the base of a tree on the ground.  Are you getting busted from new trees or are these trees you usually hunt out of or other people hunt out of?

Could also buy a camo vest to wear over it and still have the warmth of the coat and a added vest layer with out extra bulk in arms that way. I wear a solid color coat a lot but add a Kuiu camo vest on top and find it works very well.

I forgot. Years ago I bought fabric markers at a craft store that were made for cloths. I had a fleece light tan vest I tried to turn into a ASAT type pattern. Worked well and still hasn't washed out. Might wanna check your local craft store. Basically sharpies for cloths. They had green black and brown.

I haven't had any problem with deer pegging me in my stand with mine. I do like the wooltimate stuff, its some of the warmest clothes I've owned.

Kenny, you can't just 'rit dye' it.  The PH has to be right for wool to take dye.  No one needs to argue as I have bought 6 million pounds of dyed wool in a years time. 

However Kenny, you can use a permanent market to STAIN the garment.  Staining is different than dying. I did this years ago on a "too light' wool garment and it worked like a charm. Dark Brown Permanent market.

There often threads on here about wearing flannel/wool and blue jeans. You might just have some smart deer around or your deer might be becoming easternized. Ours look up and pick you off easily no matter what camo. It just happened to me tonight, I got into a high stand to scout and glass the local herd. All I did was put my binocs down from my eyes and an unseen doe picked me off at 40 yards. I had Kuiu old pattern on and I think that usually works good.
In Wyoming you could probably dress like a rodeo clown and get away with it.
