I'd bet it's uv as well. Try to find some of that Asko UV wash. Not sure if they are still making that stuff.

I'll tell you why I doubt that the problem is the color of your clothes. When I was a young hunter, the only camo I owned was military woodland camo. I used it in dark as well as light backgrounds and in thick brush and bare backgrounds. As long as the wind was right and I didn't move around, deer consistently looked right through me. However, when I later got commercially made camo, I got spotted all the time. In short, I think color is one of the least important attributes of a suit of camo - just my opinion going back to 1964.

I had a Sitka jacket that I was wearing while hog hunting in Texas every time I lifted my bow to shoot they would bust happened about three time in one night, so I took it off and put my shirt on over it and the next bunch that came in I shot one no problem .
I have a friend that wears snow camo in the tree stand he says it blends better with the light sky behind him . I had a King of The Mountain blowdown pattern that is light gray it worked good in the aspens and poplar groves but I thought I was always getting spotted in other trees .Maybe you just need a cotton shell over it .

Hey kenny, sorry you're having this issue. I have not had an issue with mine. I also have top and bottom. Last year had a 140 buck and doe bed looking right at me about 40 yards out. They didn't peg me until 3 or 4 hours later when the sun came out and I couldn't hold it anymore.

We hunt on the ground and quite often don't wear camo, it seems that camo for deer may be over rated. Rule number one, never stare at a deer, especially their eyes.

I have a jacket, although I don't wear it often because it doesn't get cold enough very often. I've never had an issue with deer seeing it. I'm betting UV. UV killing sprays work , Haven't used them in years but when I did I noticed a huge difference in the way squirrels reacted to me, deer should be the same.

Like Tim above, I wore a Sitka jacket one night and 2 different spike buck picked me off in a tree from 70 yards away... I figured the first one was just a freak accident, after it happened an hour later, I never wore it hunting again, just totally lost any confidence in it...
Its time for either a new paint job on the coat, or time to go shopping....

I wore my other wool tonite, the ol reliable, and several deer looked up at me. Maybe they are just conditioned to scan the trees for blobs...

Kenny, you can't just 'rit dye' it. The PH has to be right for wool to take dye. No one needs to argue as I have bought 6 million pounds of dyed wool in a years time.

However Kenny, you can use a permanent market to STAIN the garment. Staining is different than dying. I did this years ago on a "too light' wool garment and it worked like a charm. Dark Brown Permanent market.
