Working on "Nemesis" and would like to get some advice/opinions before going ahead.

I settled on a limb profile that leaves quite a bit of meat to allow for adjustments.  There are no tip wedges in the layup.  I'll do an underlay for the string groove and deal with any need to stiffen by size and length of the tip overlays.

Here's what the template looks like and the roughed out limbs.

At this point I feel good about bracing it for some further analysis,  but I'm reluctant to cut nocks in since I may need to make further adjustments and even shorten the bow more.

Any suggestions on how to proceed from here?

You could put shallow, temporary side nocks in the tips or use a cup type bow stringer for a bend test.

Excellent idea on the stringer.   I have them available.  If the cups aren't large enough I can make a suitable size.

I have these chrome plated S hooks I bought to string up a bow to find my true centerline. They are 1/2" wide and work great to string up without filing in nock grooves.

Where do you find those?

Over on the auction site. They are metal shelf hanging brackets.

Actually,  the bow stringer system worked perfectly.

Filed in some rough (very rough  :o ) string nocks and strung it with a string made for a 62" recurve.  Things lined up pretty good.  Any minor alignment problems can be adjusted with the nocks when tiller is finalized.  Right now it's 3/16 positive but I'll be looking for 1/8 for final.  Still might reduce the width a little bit.  It feels like it might be a little too much for me but don't want to get into unstable territory either.

Wide open to suggestions here.  So far this bow has benefited a lot from the "Bench".
