Limb Tips

I have an old pair of beat up Bear TD limbs I'd like to change from squared off to a arrowhead type shape. I'm planning to have them dipped. Will I need to spray them to seal or will the dip be enough. Also is  there something over the counter that will work for sealing if needed?

Probably a few coats of the clear wheel finish great for a sealer.
