Wood moisture

So I've had a Dehumidifier in my bow room for 8/9 years set on 40%, In the winter it does not run mostly, In the summer I don't check it as much as I should unless I'm working in there often.
Sometimes I think It messes with my sinuses?
The bow room stay's between 65 and 85 degrees all year, It's a insulated room inside a insulated metal building, and I have a window unit A/C in there too.
Sometimes I will go in there and it will be 70%, dump the water and a hour or so back down to 40%.
The past year or so I've been keeping my Osage Staves out side the bow room door in the metal building because I thought they were getting to dry.
I was glad to run across this chart.

I suppose you get use to that, but it sounds nasty! I have the opposite problem. Its so dry here, usually under 30% RH, you have to worry about uncontrolled checking, cracking, splitting, etc. I buy 5 gallon buckets of log end sealer.

My setup is similar. Shop has electric heat in the winter, a/c in the summer, and a dehumidifier always on and set at 45%. That keeps my wood right around the 8% mark.

I got tired of emptying the bucket on my dehumidifier so I put a hose on it and ran it outside. Most of my wood has been there for years. I stocked up. Wood moisture is no longer a concern.

I don't put any green wood inside the bow room

I won't drill any holes in the metal building for the dehumidifier or the dust collector, my dad would come back to haunt me

I would never get used to that heat and humidity. 🥵

This morning the R/H outside was 74% but now at noon it had dropped to 35%. This seems typical here in the spring. Once summer gets here the R/H goes up and stays up until a front goes through. With some of these fronts we can get a R/H reading in single digits. Sure can be confusing.

Hell it's 91 degrees here. No rain for a week. Supposed to rain all next week.

It was 80 here today, 50s at night. Like you, Roy, no rain for at least a week and very little in the forecast.
At least the hurricane season has begun in the Atlantic.
