Hey Roy, got any info on type of leather for a hand grip? Any threads that show an how to?

Pig or deer leather (ebay) work best for handle wraps, the leather you get a leather work shop are to thick but you can get a few needles there .
Google for a youtube

And another question...on a wood bow like you have done here...can a guy put a figured maple veneer over top  a hickory backing?
Basically I'm thinking from the flares to tip.
Would that work?

Instead of using Boo for backing you could use Hickory or any other backing strip, anything else over the backing may not hold up.

A figured lam would most likely break.

We have a fabric shop nearby that sells leather remnants. I have found pieces of thin, soft clothing leather left over from making jackets. It's pretty stretchy and makes really nice grips.
Dave.

Do you just glue it or stich and glue?
