Aside from the Bear Black Bear compound riser, what other risers will accept Samick limbs directly? Thanks in advance!

Yellah nocks

Maybe I should have asked does anyone own a recurve made from an older metal riser from a compound bow, and what brand and model did they start with?

Yellah nocks

Due to the obvious enthusiasm, as Emily Litella would say, "never mind."

Mojo Rising

The Black Bear riser is the only one I have experience with where recurve limbs bolt right up. There are a few others that are popular with the "WARF" crowd that convert them to be able to use ILF limbs.

Thank you for replying. I have no experience with these. I have been told that some of the black bears have a nice radiused shelf or a flat shelf that can be modded. I have also heard that removal of the limb locator tang with a dremel tool is needed, and that the limbs need shimmed on both sides with plastic pieces epoxied onto the riser pocket. The only other thing i have heard is to fill the voids in the pockets with JB Weld and then cover that with a piece of inner tube. Are these things so? Also that I will need 45 lb lumbs to make a 40 lb bow.

Mojo Rising

It's been 10 or so years since I got my riser and made up the bow. I'll check it out and send you an PM but I remember it being a pretty easy process.

Thank you. I may have accidentally hit the report button(i am using a tiny cell phone...so moderators he is FINE!). I look forward to your pm.

Roy from Pa

You are fine, report to moderator not hit.

Martin Pantera 1993 model.

My buddy is a machinist and this riser was a little tricky because the limb pockets did not line up straight.

WOW. NICE LOOKIN BOW!

Roy from Pa

Thanks. Wife bought it for me and then I went back to stick bows and it was collecting dust and it's so sharp I decided to have my buddy convert it over to a stick bow. Shoots fantastic. Put Tradtech black max limbs on her.

Yellah nocks

Alright...that does it....anybody have one of those bb risers(or jennings lightning) sitting around with a radiused shelf?

Yellah nocks

Thanks for all the PM's on this subject. Gonna try it if I can find a riser.
