What's up TradGangers,

How are you doing today? I think  have not connected since February, and I am glad to see the apocalypse hasn't taken the site down  :archer:

I am trying to use the KME on my Zwickey Deltas, but I have noticed that, because of the laminated tip, it takes a while to re-bevel them. I am passing them on a 300 diamond stone first, but it takes quite a while. Once that's done, it really takes a few strokes to get them sharp.

I was wondering, what would you suggest to use to speed up the process? Tried with a file, which has made things somewhat better, but I am still not satisfied. Maybe I just need to get better at it.

I look forward to your advice  :wavey:

Best,

I use a file to rebevel the front third of the head.  I try to lay it along the edge of the blade and just work the triple thickness, only double thickness on a side, of course.  That also takes out what is sometimes a little concaveness in the straight edge/side of the blade.

I then use a tru angle hone, but the principle is the same with a KME.  Once you have them close with a file, it takes a lot less work with the sharpener.

Thank you, Orion,

I will give them some extra time with the file, focusing on the front third, and see how it goes.

Cheers  :)
