Finished up work just before midnight and got a message that there were hogs at a feeder.  Threw some clothes on that were treated for ticks, grabbed my bow and headed out in a hurry.  I got within 10 yards and double lunged this sow.  She went 40 yards through some ridiculous thick stuff, but the trail was good and I gave her all of 10 minutes before starting to track because it looked so good and the rain was starting.  In fact, it was pouring on me as I skinned her out and got her on ice.

Hog #10 for the year with my mango  Talltines Stickflinger.  175 grain vented 1 1/4" 3 blade
broadheads.

Smallest hog in a while, but she was the biggest in the sounder.  One less breeder.

What a hog killer, bet they are cautious when you're in the woods-congrats.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Congratulations,  soon Oklahoma will be paying you as a exterminator.

Thanks for doing your part in pest control with those Terminators.

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

What is your setup in terms of bow draw, arrow weight?  Which 175 gr broadheads are you using?  It's obvious they work!

I am now over 2000# of hog with that bow.  The 3rd bow that I have done that with.  The other 2 were a Silvertip and Thunderchild.  Don't really feel like starting with an different bow now, but most of the way there with my black and white ebony stickflinger anyway.  I will see how the mood strikes me.

I use alot of different setups to hunt pigs.  This particular bow is either 55 or 56#@29", drawn to just under 30".  Call it 58#.  Don't remember the arrow weight.    Probably upper 500's to lower 600's.  I was using the custom vpa 175 3 blade that are vented and  1 1/4" wide.  I really like those heads.  Killed a few really nice hogs using them with no penetration issues and good trails.  1 1/4" versus 1 1/8" has made a disproprortionate improvement in the amount of blood on the ground for me the last couple of years.  All of this being said, there are probably not many setups that I wouldn't chase hogs with, lol.  Placement is always the key, but I usually like to shoot a setup with enough energy that I can feel comfortable using a broadhead that has a chance of making an easier bloodtrail for these old eyes.

Congrats again Pat!!!!!

Congratulations

Can you show to us photos of those broadheads?
Thanks
