I was able to stalk up on a nice boar after dark on Saturday and take him using a green light and one of my stickflingers. I heard him go down, and he only made it 50 yards.  Finished processing him early on sunday morning.

I went out looking for turkey sign after the rain last evening, and was able to make a nice stalk on another boar.  He only made it 15 yards, which may be the shortest that one has ever gone .

I don't usually take a heart shot, because I like the wider margin for error of a lung shot, but I was worried that the green light would make the first one spook, and I could only see the shoulder and forward, so I took what I had.  Processed that one immediately after because of bad weather coming.

Some people might be surprised, but these type of hits can yield some of the worst bloodtrails. Especially on sandy soil. These two ran so fast and dropped so fast that most of the blood was inside the cavity or pooled up under them where they died. The bloody arrow was laying 2 yd from the 2nd hog, but I couldn't find hardly a stitch of blood in the 15 yd that he went other than what was on him. That was using a 1 and 1/4 inch cut 3 blade.

We always hear about how smart pigs are. If they were really that smart, they wouldn't be within two counties of Pat.

Nice shootin' bud!
