How short is too short of a bow for 3 fingers under/fixed crawl

I guess this question may have many factors for both recurve vs longbow.  I am looking to start working on 3 under and a fixed crawl type shooting.  Is there a rule of thumb regarding a bow being too short and putting stress on the limbs.  I know draw length is a factor as well....I am right at 28".  Maybe poundage is a factor too???

I have a short draw of 26"...currently shoot a 56" Stalker Coyote with a fixed crawl point on of 20 yards..it is working for me but  not sure if draw length has an affect on this or not.

I have my Robertson Wolfer, 58", 50# @ 28", set up for 3 under with a fixed crawl.  It is a 2 piece recurve with long working limbs and a short riser, and works great with that setup.  I'm sure my Ron LaClair Shrew longbow would work just fine too, although I haven't set it up that way.  It is a one piece bow that also has long working limbs and a short riser.  I have other 58" bows with shorter working limbs and longer risers that I notice are beginning to stack at 28", and I would not set them up with a fixed crawl.  Some people who really like short bows have no doubt pushed it even further, but I really have no experience or desire to shoot bows shorter than 58".

That makes sense....shorter riser with longer limbs.
Thanks.

If your worried about the tiller, just put on an elevated rest to get your fingers about the same spot on the string that they would be shooting split.
That will quiet the bow down and make tuning much easier.

I have a 56 in (13 in riser) bow set up for fixed crawl 3 under.  Its louder though.  Draw is 27.5

Ive shot 3 under for years and found for Me, bows under 60" tend to be more "twitchy" to my release. If i get even a little sloppy or not near perfect the arrow seems to react more and be more off. I also seem to shoot my best with longbows and recurves over 66". Have fat, scarred fingers so dont always get the best release...........YMMV
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

I have a 52" Red Wing Hunter setup for 3-Under fixed crawl and it shoots great.
