Fill it full of CA and clamp it down. That part don't bend

I injected it full of EA40 using a needle and syringe and threw it back on the form with light pressure because it goes all the way to the end of the fade. After it comes off any gaps will drown in CA. Hopefully she lives!

You got gaposis. That looks more like a form or pressure issue, than lack of adhesive.

Pressure wouldn't surprise me as I was nervous about the 60 psi on the hose. What do you think may be the issue with the form? I have a bit of room to make modifications.

Edit: That disbond happened as soon as I hit full draw when I went to put the first arrow through. The bond was strong enough at full width during tillering, but once the material for the sight window was removed it broke free. Might help with any diagnostics.

Soon you will get better advice than I can give. My form is a plastic bag. Just guessing, perhaps not enough contact in that area?

Did you have good glue squeeze out?

Are you sure your riser and form were/are square? Could the riser have been tight on the side you removed material from, but gapped on side where material remained?

I'm about 99% sure I put too much pressure and not enough adhesive. I had relatively little squeeze out compared to what I normally have.

This is a possibility as well, will study the glue lines tomorrow when it's ready to come off the form. Thanks for the input all!

Chris on the topless form I put a lot of extra wraps around the fades/handle area to give even pressure accross that whole area works kinda like shimming a topped form !

If you have had good bows off of that form before then you know it something to do with this glueup. My guess just by the pic is maybe the riser shape in that area may have been off a bit. ya maybe if more glue was there it might have filled up. Was you riser wood good and dry??

I'm with stic. The riser didn't fit the form or possibly it slipped up the limb.

Well it's off the form and seems to be holding. Draw weight is still 55# @ 28". Held it at 28" for about 45 seconds with no noises, so put 5 arrows through it and didn't have any changes. Shoots fast and hits hard! Guess I'll get some overlays on there and see if it makes it to 100...

This is the first bow off this form so it could really be anything. I will definitely triple check everything on the next build.

You cant use too much smooth on ! That looks like your handle did not match your form and you had a little gap in your riser material . Profile jigs solve all the problems of tight glue lines and so easy to make .

Kind of off topic but how does a profile jig help here? New bowyer.

The profiling jig is made to be a perfect fit to your form. The jig is used to profile every riser and is the same every time. but you have to have a profile sander to use the jig.

Would this setup work on a drill press with a spindle sander attachment?
