So I'm pretty new to the whole traditional archery thing but I got bit by the big hard.   I shot recurve when I was a kid then fell out of it.   I got back into shooting bow about 10 years ago when I bought a used compound off my brother and I got pretty good with it popping gophers at 40 yards.  Then one day that bow blew up.

A couple years go by and I focused intensely on shooting a Boone and Crockett WT with a rifle, well I accomplished that goal a few years back and was left not feeling as excited about hunting as I had before.   So I decided I wanted to do it again but with a bow.   The more I thought about it the more I wanted to do it with a traditional bow so I purchased a summit ii from cables and began to practice.

All my friends and family tried to convince me to use a compound but once I picked up that bow I knew there was no going back.  I lurked on here and other places soaking up as much info as I could on tuning, and from etc.  I shot every day for 6 months and was shooting 9 inch groups consistently at 30 yards.  I practiced on my knees, sitting down, on top of the picnic table until I could hit that target in any position.

Then disaster struck,  I forgot my bow in my truck and it delaminated.   Well I found a beautiful bear super kodiak in grayling green built in the 2000s at a price I couldn't refuse.  When i picked up that bow i fell in love all over again with trad archery.

Skip to bow season and after a few failed stalls, and multiple sites where i almost had deer in range (i promised myself i wouldn't shoot over 10 yards) it finally happened and i connected on the trophy of a life time!  A year and a half old doe, hands down the best hunt I've ever been on.

Any way i just wanted to say hi to everyone, I'll be going back to the sidelines now to continue to observe and soak up knowledge on this forum.
