Has anyone noticed a need to go up in spine on their Centaur  ? I have been monkeying around with mine. Thought 400 spine with 225 was gonna work out. After talking to Jim at Centaur  he suggested 340. 400 is to week and 340 seems to stiff. I'm shooting both arrows full length....32" with 225 on the 400 and 275 up front on the 340. I'm pulling 51#@29  any help would be appreciated. I really dont want to go heavier than 300 up front, not sure if 25grains will make that much of a difference

I shoot a 60" Centaur 51# @ 28" full length 340's 100 grain brass inserts and 200 grain heads.  If I do my part they fly perfect.

I was thinking 300 up front but I guess it's just way heavier than I've ever shot in the past. How is the trajectory, I bet out to 20yds it wont matter

You could try cutting the 400 a bit to stiffen it up.

Out to 30 I Hardly notice.

I am going to order some 200 gr tips to go with my 100gr inserts and I'll give it a shot. Thanks !!

X2, the 400 can become too stiff if you cut it a little bit more short. My Triple Carbon 56# likes 29"-400 with a 250 point

So how many grains per pound do you end up with using these setups?  :o

Gary,

It will vary based on your release. My two Chimeras are 53#@29" and 56#@29" and I shoot same arrow out of both. 400 spine, 200 up front and 30.5/8" @ 29 +/-
I've tried 300 spine and found them always a little stiffer.  Besides I like my arrows a little shorter. Usually 1 1/2" pass shelf.
Everything I have and have become is due to the Lord and his great mercy.
