To anyone who shoots both split and 3u - just curious..

If you shoot both split and 3u, how do the same arrows hit when you swap between split and 3u?

Here are my findings, even with bare shafts, when I shoot my .500 spine (tuned for 3u) arrows split, I get a WAY weak reading.  I am not adjusting any when shooting, I am just shooting and they're hitting 10 or more inches weak.  If I go up to a .400 spine arrow, they fly middle.

IF I shoot my .400's 3u, they do just the opposite, very stiff.

Anyone ever experience anything like this?

I just switched to 3 under. I don't have any difference in arrow flight other than arrows impacting 3" lower at 15 yards.

Interesting.  I have never been able to kick the hitting low when shooting 3u.  It has lead to me missing quite a few animals.  One of the reasons I am trying to go back to split full time.

I shoot gapstinctive. With two or three weeks of shooting a conscious hard gap in practice, I'll be able to reprogram to the new sight picture and not think about it any more. I've done this before with major arrow weight changes. I'm lucky that it works pretty smoothly for me!

I'm mostly a split finger shooter, but do 3-under occasionally, sometimes with a fixed crawl. Use the same arrows and no change in arrow flight.  I don't even change my nock point, though some might consider it a bit on the high side to begin with, about 9/16 above the shelf (knocking under).  Because shooting three under raises the rear of the arrow vis-a-vis my eye, the sight picture changes, but doesn't take long to get used to that.

I draw back split finger, then I point my index finger down the shaft.  Kinda like 2 under but I put the pad of my index finger in the corner of my mouth.

I've been trying 3 under for the last couple months because I can't get a nock high flight issue corrected with split. When I switch the only change I see is about 3 or 4 inch low impact at 20 yards but after a few reps it goes away. I switch from .500 to .600 and only see a slight change in drop with the .500 but no spine issues.

It depends on my bows. My Titan III riser and Wes Wallace I shoot split. If I try to shoot these 3U arrow goes low left. My Gillo 25" target riser I shoot 3U out to 45 yards and then switch to split for 55 and up with no difference in arrow impact. The only thing is I use a glove on the first two and a tab on the last one.
