Sold my tree stand

Well I have been hunting out of climbers for a few seasons and honestly I have seen more animals on the ground to and from stand locations than in the stand. I ended up selling my climber because it just seems to be a burden to take a long. Anyone have good recommendations for a light portable seat to carry with? Doesnt have to be a tree seat. What do you use? Pics welcome.

I don't think you can beat a Millennium tree seat, it doesn't weigh anything and provides a large seat and provides all day comfort.

I have a Summit Trophy chair as well, very comfortable but heavy and awkward to carry through the woods.

The Waldrop Pac Seat is great. Light weight and easy to carry, in hand or on your back. I also use the Huntmore chair which is no longer made. Weight is a problem for some with this type of chair. If I am roving or searching for a spot,  I carry the Waldrop Pac seat. If I am hunting an established blind or area, I'll use the Huntmore. Of course distance from vehicle is a determining factor. I hunt public land and a hike of 30 to 45 minutes is not uncommon. The further I hunt from my vehicle the more likely I will be staying out all day. A good, quiet, comfortable chair is a must for my 73 year old body.

Take a look at the hammock seat.  Relatively inexpensive, small, compact and light, and easy to attach to a tree.  Very comfortable and maneuverable.  A little noisy at first, but becomes quieter with use.

One of the collapsible tripod seats work well to set up in a trimmed out cedar tree or blow down set up.  I use the Cabela's brand.  A small seated one if I'm still hunting and find a spot to set up for a while or the larger one if it's a spot I will sit several times.  They have a back rest and are reasonably comfortable and portable.

If you are comfortable with leaving it in the woods, a Double Bull three legged seat is good. I hunt private land and just kick some leaves over them in my ground blinds. I've made two Torges tree seats, one solid, one hinged that fits in a day pack. A piece of foam on top and I'm good for an evening hunt.

I have a folding stool with a canvas sling that weighs maybe all of a pound of two. The seat is not that comfortable, but it has a zipper pouch underneath that I can stuff a nice camo ground cushion into, throw it over my shoulder, and walk in with it. Don't know who made it or how much it cost, but I'm thinking it was around ten bucks. Sorry, no photos...but I could take some if you like.

BTW...I too got rid of my climbers well over a decade ago...still got one in case just for deer hunts if need be. I got tired of not being able to stalk hogs n bears I Cohutta that I saw but was stranded in a tree....

Once I stopped climbing I killed both in Cohutta and several other deer.... not to mention a ton of hogs elsewhere GA, FL, SC, TX

Have both the Waldrop and the Millennium. The Waldrop is my personal choice. The Millennium goes only if I need an extra seat for guiding.

Been using the millennium for about 5 years exclusively and have killed deer every year since. If I put on a stalk I just leave it covered and come back to it later. Very light and as long as you have trees you're good to set up an ambush if you have good back cover.

That's why I prefer the Waldrop
.. you can use a tree but you don't have to have one to use the chair.  The Waldrop is much more versatile.
