Just wanting to know why my Quiet Arrow topic was removed? Was there something wrong with my post?

Thanks for the reply. I don't know why someone would complain about that picture. I have never actually killed a animal with a wood arrow. The noise I'm hearing with the carbons sounds like it is smacking the riser on release. I'm shooting a reflex reflex longbow with ff string at 40lb. The arrows I'm using are Beman bowhunter 400s full length with 275 grains up front. The wood arrows are 45-50 spine with 125 grain up front.

The sound you are hearing is a spine/nock point/ brace hieght issue.  ..... Not a shaft material issue.   The noise you are hearing could happen with any material of arrow shafts.

You have told us that you had an issue with arrows now tell us more about your bow ....what kind of bow.... ...what brace hieght....what nock point level are you shooting exedra...

The bow is a Old Mountain Mesa longbow from 3 rivers. The brace height is set at 7.25in and I haven't checked the nock point as they set it up at 3 rivers.

Need to tune nock height and check brace and nock height before every shooting session. Strings stretch and things shift.

Provide a little more information if you would. Drawn length,  poundage at that draw.

I have the same bow at 45# @28" and I pull 29+ so about 49#'s for me. I'm shooting 400's at 30.5" and about 200 grains up front and I'm a little stiff.

Shooting 3 under?  Split finger?

I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

I saw that thread last night, and I didn't see any reason for a complaint.  Looked like Terry was pointing out that carbons are worthy.....with an explanation on why.  Not sure what kind of person would jump the shark on that, unless they are one of the folks that never kill anything.  I'll bet I'm right on the later.

F. Dobbs

I agree.  What I saw was Terry trying to help by providing PROOF and not just 'hearsay' like a lot of folks.  Real hard core proof.  Sad people jump while others try and help.  Thanks T!

I shoot 3 under and pull 27.75in. I have tried shooting split finger and don't seem to  be as loud. I'm no where as accurate shooting split finger.

Three under can get pretty quiet if you set it up right. What bow you running? I typically start my nock height at 1/2 inch for 3 under and that is usually right on the money. Brace height can be key to quiet as well. Start at lowest recommended and twist up until shooting sweet and quiet.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

Why would a snowflake even hang out here? :dunno:

The arrow on the 2nd level is wood (dead center of pic, yes the pig broke it)....all others are carbon.....

Just wanted to make that clear.   It seems that there are so many haters out there that I can't even comment to try to help another fellow hunter without getting bombarded by some people.

So what was the objection? Two nice mounts and a rack full of retired arrows? What's not to like about that?

Gesthuntn....did you get your issue sorted out?  If not try raising your brace hieght 3/8ths inch and see what happens.

I will try to raise the brace height and try. I think the arrows are just to stiff.

Are you shooting glove or tab? I shoot a tab and I like it a little longer and if I don't make a good release I hear the string hit my tab.
