November 21 was a very memorable morning for me. I guess the old adage, the sun even shines on a dogs arse now and again holds true   :biglaugh:

The pre dawn hour found me working my way towards the top of a ridge side. I placed a hang on tucked into a large gloomy cedar over looking a side hill drainage header the evening b4. I had a good wind and the place was torn up with fresh rut activity along the cedar transition.

Before the song birds got good and fired up, I spot movement coming from the west. It was a buck. A good buck! He was coming at a pretty good pace so I hurried into position. As he cut around the top of the drainage he presented me with a 15 yard broadside shot and I didn't hesitate to cash in. Arrow passed through the goodies and the buck burned off down through the valley. At 50 yards I saw him start leaning and losing balance. He was down in sight. I hung up my bow and sat down replaying what just transpired in my head. I threw a big thanks to man upstairs and started to get my stuff in order when I again spot movement. This time from the east. A lone young doe fed along and ended up in my lap, with her head behind a cedar tree. I couldn't resist! What a great hunt, one I will never forget.
