Mr. Sinus kicked my butt. And crappy weather I got the bow together and pulled it a few times but no shooting yet
. It sez 45 @ 28 seems like a little more than that though.

I got a box yesterday. Maybe this could be a reoccurring thread like "what did you do today"
Anyways I got some fancy materials to experiment with vacuum infusion.[attachment=1]
My original intent was not to try to impregnate some wood to use as a fiberglass substitute, but after looking at veneers, I have to try it. I have been thinking of a good material to try out and Bamboo would seem to have the best combination of porosity and fiber orientation. I know it seems goofy to use a material that needs no modifications to work as intended, but this is only an experiment. My plan is to grind a .030 x 72" slat, dry out all the moisture and soak it with some warm laminating epoxy.
After it's sucked up some epoxy I'm going to cover both sides with some fiberglass or kevlar veil material and lay it up for resin infusion.[attachment=2]
The veil is only .004" so it won't affect the Bamboo much, but it will protect the surface coat of epoxy and I am hoping it will act as infusion flow media. Otherwise I have to use a peel off layer and flow mesh, which consumes resin.

I tried bamboo a cactus juice did not work. I think because the nodes interupt the grain.
