Bear Takedown limb project

I bought a set of #1 limbs intended for the limited edition they put out. The limbs were rejects due to the finish being applied too heavily, consequently the finish "checked" or had fine cracks across the limbs at the working area. I stripped the finish off, made some new black phenolic tips to match my bubinga / phenolic "A" riser, painted the wedges black, then refinished the limbs. What do ya think?

    220 grit wet paper. Takes awhile, maybe 45 minutes per limb. You can tell fairly easily when you're through the finish and to the glass. Then smooth it out w/ 400 grit.

Thanks to a PM from myshootinstinks on a different site, I'm going to try to do something similar.  Been looking for a set of limbs with the bubinga wedges but kept striking out.  These are going to look even better once I get the wedges painted.  Thanks again Doug!
