Please excuse my stupidity,
Im building a TD Longbow,

Where do the Fades Start? and end ?

Im assuming and we know what that word breaks down to :biglaugh:

that the wedge-Piece sandwiched in my tapered pieces, means its somewhere there

Is it where the tip of the wedge disappears into the other laminates? is that the beginning of the Fade?

Thanks you for any help
John

John, I couldn't get my fone to answer the pm. The fades are on the wedges on a td where it fades to nothing. Feather thin... you can put an overlay over the pin hole on outside of limb. I have some short PCs of glass but they're not really necessary . Would be only shipping on them.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

So if my limbs are all squared off, and I cut the 1/4 off the butt,
can I measure up 4 inches on the back side and begin a 45 deg angle taper getting wider as it gets to the base
then do a slight raidius so as not to have sharp edges,
then across the base do the same ?
Ive tried to draw what im wanting to do, hope it helps,
right hand side pic would be looking at the butt end
I Do NOT want to taper the whole limb only the edge

Well there is wedge fade overlay fade and riser fade where the wood thins to nothing. Fade out.
We must not forget that Elroy is fading to.  :bigsmyl:

Old Bowyers never die... they just "fade" away. (Yeah I know, not helpful)

I would hate to narrow them that much if I'm looking at the drawing correctly.  The bolt is an inch from the end of limb, and just looking , it looks like you would be 3/4" wide at bolt.  "Probably" hold but not good if it don't...
Stay sharp, Kenny.
