Good morning all! Hope all have had a good bow season.. I havent posted anything on here in a long time. I am in need for a "D" shape longbow and wanted advice on bowyers.. I have lost alot of strength from my diabetes and getting older.. I was shooting 68# to #70 up until this past March. I have D shaped Kentuckian bows at that weight. I bought a Black Hunter #45 hybrid and can shoot that well... I love D shape longbows and want to buy one  between#43 an #46 but not sure who all makes D shape longbows, can yall point me in the right direction please....I greatly appreciate everyone's in put....God Bless you all...

That's almost like asking, which woman should I marry!!!!!!  Wild Horse Creek - Destiny.  Kinda hybrid that strings in D shape.

Those are all good suggestions in the mild R&D D shape..

A few more are Great Northern Critter Gitter deep core limb and Great Northern Bushbow that has a wider limb,Dwyer Original Longbow,Kim Sha Mawattoman(might have spelled that wrong),Yellowstone,Deathwish,Benoit,Northern mist Baraga and Superior,Black Swan.Robertson used to have one?No shortage of those style bows. They sure are nice!

At present, Northern Mist is my go to. Steve's bows are sleek and graceful. They are light in the hand and draw very smoothly. Other great bows come from Howard Hill Archery and JD Berry. As you see, I really like Hill style bows. There are lots of R/D bows that are fantastic also. My advice is to attend as many shoots as possible and try as many different bows as possible. I don't know if I fully agree with Wudstix, as I think it may be easier to tell you which woman to marry.

Wait, Kentuckian bows? As in the ones that were made by Roy McIntosh? I'm a fan. I shoot one that is a bit lighter in draw weight than I want it to be.  If one of those shot 60-65# @ 25" you might have found a buyer once first of the year comes... ;)

You'd love a Northern Mist Superior. It's a very slight R/D bow that strings up like a Hill style straight bow. No handshock and extremely quiet. They are excellent bows even for the guys that "don't like Hill bows".

Look at Javaman Impala and Impala Supreme bows.  Hybrid grips and R/D when unstrung, but D-shaped when strung.  NFAA legal, if that matters to you, but SUPER smooth and surprisingly quick.  Might be a great option if you have to drop way down in weight and still want a quicker bow.  He makes them in 64"-70" lengths.

I'll have to say Northern Mist is an excellent choice. I have a Superior and find it's performance to be fantastic.
