I have been hunting a certain buck on my little ranch (Kicking Rock Ranch) really hard for the last couple weeks. I had a bunch of trail cam pics of him, but just did not fully appreciate him till I saw him in person. The first day I saw him, I decided he was the one I wanted for this year. I also told my wife that I would be hunting every day in October till I got a crack at him. Here is a pic of him:

Well, I've seen him several times, and we've played cat-n-mouse every time. So far, he has won out.

It's been wearing me out too, and I haven't seen him in about 4 days! Yesterday, I decided the heck with it, I'm gonna shoot the first doe that gives me a chance. I just switched arrows, and went to 2" 4-fletch, and was itching to try them out on a critter.

Anyway, this afternoon, a nice doe gave me the opportunity I was after. She turned a little quartering away at about 12yds. I got to anchor, and let it fly. I didn't see the arrow hit, but she tore out of there and I watched her topple over dead about 35yds from where I shot her.

The shot was near perfect!

Entrance:

Exit, opposite arm pit:

I waited till after dark and took my dog Zeke down there to find her. He covered it and was on her in about 2 seconds. Not much of a challenge, but I try to put him on every real critter I can!!!

I shot her with my new Primal Tech takedown longbow, .400 spine Widowmaker Smash arrows with 4-2" feathers, and a 150gr German Kinetic Silverflame XL broadhead!

Hoping your plan comes together on the buck.  He has some character in that rack.

Congrats Bosch,
I haven't been within 75 yards of a deer yet. Only out twice lots of corn around.

Good job, Bisch! Glad you put some meat in the freezer and you no longer have to worry about having dry bread around the house.
