Has any one used a single peace non footed action wood for a take down riser here ?
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

Flem

I might have got one in the bow swap. What is non-footed?

Forwardhandle

I should have said non I-beam  I never made a take down so I guess my question is ,is it doable ? I don't see why it wouldn't be but figured I would ask plus ,I think it would look cool !

He made it a right handed bow.

I converted it to amberdextious.

That way I kin shoot dah deer on either side of the tree.

Ya don't get out much do ya?

Crooked Stic

The spectraply we can get now instead of the old Rutland stuff is not as good in my opinion. I think with a TD mid fifties and up for sure needs a ibeam. I have stabilized it before and it takes a lot of resin but needs to be clamped when curing. Seems the glue gives up at 200 degrees.

I may have a piece of the older stuff here, not sure how long it is.

What length ya need, Ritchie?

I have a T/D recurve made by Jeffery back in the late 80's with an Actionwood riser without an I beam.

There is some new stuff out there that has 3 to 1 layers on the pictures I'm seeing on here, very thin layers.
I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means
