Source for Handle wrap

Have looked a little, but would like a good source for hand wrap material.

Probably shouldn't post this but I got enough to last me the rest of my life.  Check with your local Interior designers and/or furniture stores.  They both have sample stock from the furniture manufactures that get changed out every 2-5 years.  The old samples are usually 40 - 80 pieces of Leather 6" x 6" or 6" x 8", in various colors and patterns, usually tied together on a piece of ribbon or cord, and sitting in a box behind the counter or on a shelf in the back room.  I just ask and usually get them for free, though I've been known to slip the designer/salesman an Andrew Jackson to seal the deal. You'll never have same looking grip but the price is right.  That is how the grip on the yew bow Terry donated to the PBS auction was acquired.

Big Jim sells beaver hide. I was going to try that. I like dealing with Traditions leathercraft also.

I use a piece of elk hide from an animal I shot several years ago on every bow I have.  Not only looks good but keeps the bow from slipping when my hand sweats.  After a couple months the elk hide is nearly black from the sweat.  It last a couple years then I replace it using rubber cement.  You might check with a taxidermist - he might have some scraps with the hair off.

Long bow or recurve? I put beaver tail on my Blacktail ( took a bit of work ) Sitka and love the tail. Actually gets grippier  ( new word? ) when I sweat in Florida, which is about always.

I like that idea of a partial beavertail wrap-- the full wrap is a pain in the keester to do --

The more curves or higher wrist the trickier it is to shape the tail around it.
