Having a great season so far, I managed to arrow this doe hunting on a small 5 acre piece of land in Lexington Oklahoma. I had just enough time to get in an afternoon hunt and about 45 minutes before dark a group of 6 doe came into my area and this one got close enough. The shot was sub 20 yards clean pass through, she was down in less than 50 yards after impact.[attachment=2,msg2888718].
Shooting a 45lb Hoyt Dorado with Gold tip traditional arrows 100 grain brass inserts and 135 grain Zwickey Eskilitie broad head. Then to put icing on the cake I was able to get a hunt in at the family farm in Higgins Oklahoma over the weekend. I saw one doe during the morning sit and once it warmed up around 1pm I climbed out of the stand to do a little in season scouting. 500 or so yards up the ridge I found an area covered with fresh rubs, so I hung a stand for the evening sit over a couple of the rubs. I wasn't in the stand an hour when this joker came through my shooting lane at 22 yards. I hit anchor set the gap and pulled till my clicker went off. I watched the arrow impact the deer right in the crease behind the leg and I knew I had put a great shot on him. I heard him crash so I didn't give him more than 30 minutes after the shot. He is my best buck so far with traditional gear and I couldn't be happier.

Congrats!  Not many people know where Higgins is.  I used to work at the Mabry Ranch there.  Some great deer and lots of pigs around there.
