Last year, right about this time, I got a passaround Primal Tech longbow to try out. It was a good looking bow, and shot lights out. I only had it 2 weeks, but was able to take a nice doe with it. I was also impressed with it enough, that a few months later, I got on the list to have one built for me. After a few setbacks (all my fault, and none of Randy's fault), I finally got my new bow on Sept 11th. I've been shooting it every day, and getting things down with it.  Oh yeah, did I mention that is is the most beautiful bow I have ever owned!!!!!!

I went to a good friends place to hunt opening weekend of deer season. I can only shoot pigs, does, and axis deer on this place. We got there Friday (the day before opening day of deer season) and we decided to go sit and see if the pigs were around! Boy, were they!!!! I snuck into my stand to find a whole gob of pigs all bedded up around the area. Of course, I spooked them off as I made my way to the stand. Got in, and got settled down. About an hour later a big sounder of pigs came back in. I'm pretty sure at least some of them were the same as the ones I had spooked off earlier. Anyway, they milled around, and finally found the hand throw corn I had put out. I got a shot on a nice eater sow. It was not the best shot I've ever made, but I got spine, so it was effective. It was a nice eater sized sow.

Then on Saturday, I followed up with a great shot on a nice mature doe.

There was no tracking on the pig the day before because I had spine shot it, but my tracking dog in training, Zeke, led me right to the doe (she only made it about 70yds)!

Sunday morning, I had a huge axis buck at 14yds for a short bit. I was ready to shoot him, and needed him to make a little move to get to a good angle. There were a bunch of whitetail deer there too and he was really on edge. Anyway, something wigged him out and he took off for parts unknown before I could ever get that shot off! Oh well, guess it just wasn't meant to be on this day, but I'll be back out there looking for him soon!!!!

That's not a "Death Smirk". That's a "push the button on the camera and get around in position before the danged  thing goes off" smirk!!!!
