Good afternoon TG,

Looking at potentially getting one of his takedown SXT recurves with the Z4 limbs, how have they performed for ya?

Little disconcerting to buy without having shot one before, anybody close to Iowa have one they'd let me try?

May be well worth considering contacting Tom to see if he had one available for you to try before you buy.

Ive been on the fence to try one of Tom's Zippers for a while, but life has been getting in the way of a new order...

I have talked to Tom and others and would put it to you this way.. Are you into super curves? If so I have been told that they will compete with any out there! But if you are just a recurve shooter then I would rather get his new C2 limbs. I hear they will perform nearly as well and you won't have the form sensitive nature of a super curve and longbow quiet..

I have been back and forth with Tom for two years on an SXT with C2's and haven't pulled the trigger but as of recently I haven't wanted to shoot anything but a longbow and now want a Nitro! I am as fickle as a toddler about things unfortunately..

Hope that helps!

Cheers

Tradbrew knowing the bows you have fancied in the past a Zipper C2 setup should be a no brainer.  They flat perform and quietly.

Honestly I have no clue about the super curves, never tried one before.

Sorry when I was Talking about super curve I was referring to the Z4 limbs as apposed to the more traditional C2 recurve limbs.

Sure. May go with the C2 if I can find someone close that has one I can try. Still a little way out from buying but would like to test the 3 I'm considering.

I went to Tom's shop to shoot all the models he had to make my decision. They're all outstanding shooting bows in their own way.  I decided on sxt with c2 limbs because I like the wood grain look and a quiet bow. The nitro shot very well and surprisingly fast for longbow. The z4 limbs were a bit different for me because I'd never shot anything like them. In all reality no matter which one I picked I would've been more than happy with it and you can't ask for a better guy to deal with than Tom!

I'm a Zipper freak, but lean longbow over recurve.  I'm on the list to get another Nitro riser which will give me 3 Nitros, and a Zipstick.  I love the SXT and prefer the C2 limbs over the Z4, but there is no doubt that the Z4 super curves are some kind of amazing if performance is your thing.  If you have any specific questions hit me up, you should still have my number.

I also have a major weakness when it comes to Zippers. Over the years I have found that they fit me the best. The SXT has always been my favorite in the Zipper lineup. I'm fortunate to own SXT's with Evolution,Z4,and C2 limbs. The new C2 limbs are hands down my favorite. They are everything that Tom Jenkins said they would be and more. Talk about a silky smooth drawing limb with excellent performance. Not to mention they are whisper quiet and dead in the hand. Tom Jenkins is a top notch bowyer with a great eye for wood combos. Just take a look at his Instagram and Facebook pages. You certainly won't be disappointed. PM your number and we can text more if you want. If it wasn't this close to the season opener I would consider sending you my SXT to try out.

I'll have to second what Bill said.....the C2 limbs are phenomenal! I have a ZSR with the C2 limbs and love them. Couldn't imagine anything better!

Have been shooting the c2 limbs for a couple seasons now. It's a 58" bow at a draw wt of #50@27". The limbs are very easy to tune a arrow to and very quiet. Speed is has good has any that I have shot! Arrow setups have been in the 470- 525 range. The only thing I would do different on my bow is get a leather grip. Don't think you will be disappointed in the C2 limbs .... big problems are picking the wood out for the bow ... Tom has put together some killer combo's! My bow comb of woods made for a light weight bow so adding quiver full of arrows no problem.... if you are a non bow quiver kind of guy keep that in mind when picking your woods.... Tom will build you a dream bow! And you will want another... lol

Hows everyone else like their Zipper SXT with C2 limbs?
