So I have Ten ring string FF on this recurve. Been on there about 3 years now. I think I noticed what appears to be a broken strand or maybe even 2. I will be ordering one today. As far as tuning, what will I need to do? Shoot several shots and then start tuning?
Wanna be for now.

Yes I would shoot about 50 arrows or more and then start tuning and if you kept notes on your last string i.e. nock height brace height shouldn't take that long tuning.

ok, well I can easly do the brace height..nock height might be different.. Allen from 10 ring strings sets the nock height before I get it.. I never changed it. it just so happened it tuned where it was..

I would personally want to choose where I want the nock to go for fine tuning.I assume he uses a tie on nock. When I tune I like to use a brass nock and its easy to adjust up or down with nock pliers. Then if you want to use tie on nock you can do it when your happy with nock height.I often just use a brass nock all the time.

You can also use masking tape while tuning for nock height. When you find the right spot then tie one on.

yeh he ties them on and then lets you move them where you want. I actually like one brass nock instead of two served nocks..arrow nock under the brass one... I assume I am just going to shoot about 50 arrows then shoot to see if I have up and down movement in flight and try to figure that out...I get anxiety over that...I really don't have anyone too  close that shoots trad...
Wanna be for now.
