It's  been years since I've shot a bow due to a heart attack , which weakened me and caused Frozen Shoulder Syndrome which prevented me from drawing back my bows. I sold all my gear to help pay for medical bills. Flash forward to now and I'm thinking about shooting again thx to exercise and stretching to strengthen my shoulder.

I'm  torn on whether to go trad or compound.
With a compound I can shoot a higher poundage bow but I LOVE the simplicity and spiritual side of trad but I know I'll never be able to shoot the weight I was shooting (45#) nor will I be able to shoot/afford a bow like I had (Toelke Whip).

If going with trad I'll  probably go with something like a SAMICK SAGE due to price ( I pay $1200.00 a month for health insurance plus doctor visits) and the ability to switch out the limbs.
My question is what would be a good weight to start out with and what would be a good shooting regiment to begin with?
Any tips, suggestions, experiences similar to mine would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
THX!!!! 😁🏹

This post I understand. Few years back I went through a rebuilding thing after surgery. I started w 42 and it was a bear. I sold/traded up them all and now shoot around 60. If I had a light one I'd give it to you.
Personally I'm a meat head and always have been so I self push and shot whenever I could which was many times a day if only a couple arrows. Push yourself but don't overpush of that makes sense. Don't reinjure anything but stay w it. Good luck

You're not a southpaw by any chance are you?

I have a recurve made in the 90's that hasn't been shot much at all,but it's 45 lbs. It's not fast flight and if you think you could get to this weight it's yours.

Let me know if you can use it. I know it's tough sometimes with money.
