I finished up this stave yesterday. It had quite a bit of natural deflex so I got all high tech with a fancy steaming system and a bending form :biglaugh:

The rough rough-out. D flexed!

It took a lot of wood removal to get it to bend at floor tiller. This is some pretty stiff Yew.  Here is my first go at bending in some serious recurves.

The latest steam/boiling technology!

The latest in limb-form design!

After bending and cooling. I put it back on the "caul" and toasted the bend. They stayed.

After tillering, scraping, rasping, bending, troubleshooting.. rinsing and repeating ..the selfbow-two-step was done.  Moose antler tips and shelf.

Nice job Mike! Have to call you the "Wood torturer"
Does Yew grow where you're at?

Stumpin' pics.

Arrows are POC with 125gn rubber blunts.  And I just tuned up a  half dozen bamboo shafts that are really flying nice.. I will be setting up broadheads for these bamboo shafts and hopefully using them this moose season.
