The Trad Gang plan for eliminating scammers -- a pay-to-play classified ad system -- is something that I have seen work here. I have to admit that I wondered at first if it would work to keep scammers out, but after seeing the results I am convinced.

Most of us don't know how much time the Trad Gang leadership used to have to spend chasing scammers and deadbeats around on behalf of the members who were being cheated, but I know it was a lot. And that was time taken away from their families, jobs, fun, etc..

Remember that Trad Gang is a free site. The only cost is being registered for the classifieds, and that is voluntary if you want to buy/sell. And that cost is nothing compared to the cost of being cheated on a transaction. Remember the pay-to-play classifieds have virtually eliminated the crooks.

Now the crooks try to push person-to-person transactions on Pow-Wow? No way should that be allowed.

I'll gladly pay the modest contributor fee each year instead of paying a per item commission on Fleabay.  Thank you for your tireless efforts in maintaining a forum where everyone is respected and all classified sales are trustworthy.
