Word on the street they run about $299 a dz and in my opinion they will be some very very nice arrows. Looking forward to trying them and I am sure when available I will have them instock. Waiting hear more from my rep but sounds like a slam dunk for Easton just a pricy one

For guys already shooting something like a Grizzlystik then that price is competitive. Like Bisch said though, I think FMJ 5mm are one of the best values in premium arrow shafts. So the benefits would have to be extreme to spend the extra.

Is it straighter and have a better spine tolerance than the other FMJs to get a price like that? Maybe the manufacturing process is much more involved for the taper? Like the old mountain men who were low on lead, you are going to have to wait for a deer to line up with a tree before you shoot one of the high priced arrows at them! But I'll still probably buy 6 to try!

I'm sorry, but the standard FMJ is so straight that no one here could see any benefit in paying the difference for these new shafts. I've rolled a bunch of them and never had any over .001 deviation. If you need FOC just stick some brass or steel inserts in them. I really don't see it being a hit with the trad hunters cause most are tight a$$es. Who Knows??

I might try some. I've thought about overpaying for some Grizzly Stick arrows a few times but haven't ever found any that were straight when rolled on an arrow spinner. I've seen the ends of those wobble by more than some of my old cedar shafts which to me was a deal breaker.

I'm currently shooting Gold Tips and they are nice and straight but their spines aren't very consistent. I bought 4 dozen and made a 3-dozen arrow batch from them. The other dozen were not crested or given spliced feathers: I just put huge 5" high back shield cuts on them (almost flu-flu height) and have used them on stumps and for loaner arrows.

The newer version of Grizzlysticks are really straight and tough (they have been out about a year). Made by Victory. They are a great arrow. They do need to be an inch longer for some tuning.
This new Easton FMJ seems like an even better shaft. I like the fact that the new FMJ uses an insert, no half out. Maybe some competition in the tapered shaft area will lower these prices. Especially if you add tuffheads to the mix I think he said he was working on a new shaft).
I wonder if someone's patent ran out recently?

Looks like they go to 300 spine.  Probably market share reasons, but it would probably be even more useful in heavier spines for those that want to chase dangerous game.
