Flem, that is interesting for sure!

My bows come in 5# light with BP compared to Gordons ..so far... I've heard the glass spine changes roll to roll on the BP but I haven't found that yet.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Jeff looks like the top of that string groove may have been some of the problem also.Looks to have a hump in it.
Kenny could have been some human error involved to.  :bigsmyl:

No humps, but I can see how the pic suggests that...I think I just got my string grooves too narrow to start. Ground 'em off and added a little more phenolic and bone!...should do the trick :bigsmyl:

Super Cool Riser BTW Stic!

What kinda antler is that Mike? Sure is dark.
Some hunt to survive; some survive to hunt

Crooked Stic

Not sure what the antler is. I think it has been stabilized and color added.
Think that tip will work now.

Looks nice Kenny!

I was just mindin' my own business shooting my latest bow and heard something hit the wall behind my target...Think I'll stick with antler from now on...the FF string was a little too much for the purple heart :dunno:

Don't take this the wrong way but that makes me feel a little better. I built a hickory bow and we spliced in Purple Heart tips to get rid of twist. 100 shots in and the lower tip came apart. I've wondered for 2 years what went wrong. Now seeing these failures around here I'm pretty sure it was the Purple Heart that failed. I was using B50 Flemish twist.

I built my first laminate bow just last winter, used purpleheart on the tips, somewhere between 100-200 shots the top tip broke in 1/2. I will not use it again.

I just relocated from France to CA with my work. I have been busy moving out and in with family in the last couple weeks.
Unfortunately I couldn't bring my shop with me! It will probably a couple more weeks until I gather everything I need to start a new bow
