Whipped up a 58" FHLB blank for a customer over the weekend, 52@28 will finish out around 48@28

It is Osage riser with nat boo cores and spalted hackberry veneers, has yellow tape on it in this pic

BTW don't buy 3m tape on big auction site that says 1.5" wide. It ain't ...

Looks sweet Mike.

But perfect???? Looks like the apex on that shelf is about 1/16" too far forward  :biglaugh:

Is that color streak natural, or is that tinted?

Good looking stick there Kenny & smooth looking handle Mike , I think Im going try the 58" next Kenny !
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

I have already adjusted the Apex. The accents are all maple. The grip part took on more black dye maybe a softer maple than the main riser section.  :dunno:
Kenny good lookin bow there and you find a lot of stuff on BA that aint quite what it sez.

Heck, just make your bows narrower.

What's the big deal?

LOL I tried it on this one and it's OK but I didn't order 1.430 " wide tape.

My bad...

Hey , that's the first time I said that !! What does it mean anyway?

That is before the backer board. Those bags need to be about twice as thick. They get shot thru in no time. Shingles make good driveway material. If you get them cut up they are like asphalt after awhile.

weather finally cleared enough for me to lay up this second FHLB . larned a heap. Mostly needing to put stops each end of form, and extend my side washers high enough to cover all the layup at riser. Back glass on this one slipped to one side even with cable ties in place. Had to narrow it about .250''. Weight came in at bottom of my target of 40# to 45# , right on 40# and 60'' ntn. riser wood is Tasmanian Blackwood and belly veneer is Camphor Laurel, mainly because I could get a full one piece lam out of a board and one less thing to worry about . I differ to most as instead of having a thin veneer I often incorporate the " veneer" as a lam. this one I just went with 3 lams including " veneer'' With the lower poundage bows I  think the tip wedge is essential, this one is 10'' , just to keep the tips off the string and maintain a reasonable brace height. Also  incorporated  the   power lam after "mark one" [attachment=1][attachment=1][attachment=1] destructed near the fade. They are such a great performing bow, I am sold on them Going to make another as soon as circumstances allow.

Damn not sure what happened.[attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3]
