You want the aniline dye that is alcohol soluble, not water soluble!

Water raises the grain, alcohol doesn't and it dries in about 10 seconds and can be blended in very easily. 

Woodworker carries the aniline dye.

I wonder if you could get it to do a camo pattern ? Working the first real storm ⛈ in Chicago we have had so far wish I was home bow making  :biglaugh:

I have done camo of sorts by blotting aboo with a sponge using three colors. We got about 3 in. here last nite  :tongue:

I had to read that a couple times to fully understand (sometimes I'm a little slow)
Then I got a mental pic of how dogs normally get "hooked up" :biglaugh:
