How is the sizing on the pathfinder wool, is it sized for layers.

My anorak and my son's pathfinder are both sized to allow for layering.
You can fix stupid.......but it's gonna hurt!

Yes it's an outer layer therefore you will have room underneath for vest or a thick sweater n thermals.... least that's the way mine fit and others have said so as well.

I have a few of their vest and jackets. I found they are true to size. If you wear a Large you can buy a large. If your layering I would buy  a size or two up depending on how much you want to put on under it. I found they are warm.  Depends on where you hunt.

This. I have always advised "Buy the same size as you would a hooded sweatshirt".....that seems to work

How is the weight on the Pathfinder jackets compared with synthetics (poly-fleece)?  Been eyeballing them for a few years but hesitate to pull the trigger when I think about carrying it around in my pack.

John-  I have one and will weigh it when I get home tonight and let you know how much it weighs.

My size large zip-up jacket (in Asbell "heavy" weight) is 1.96 pounds.  A Pathfinder (in heavy weight) is 1.84 pounds and a Pathfinder (in blanket weight) weighs 2.10 pounds.

YosemiteSam

Thanks!  Sounds heavy for a single item but I suppose it may be warmer than, say, my poly fleece hoodie jacket.  Would be nice to feel it in person one of these days.  If it could replace two layers, then it could potentially save a little weight AND space.

Pathfinder only comes in large and xl?  Afraid I will be swimming in it with a 40" chest?

Hermon

They may be out of some sizes in some patterns.  Think  they make most all sizes.  I have seen from medium to XXL.
